    There should be no reason for an upgrade to Office 2003. The programs mentioned are compatible with the OS mentioned. Try downloading some updates, it may help you with your problem.

    I have cleaned the tape drive, and reset statistics. I'm going to try and format the tape before changing to a different tape. Trying a different tape is next on the list.
