ps i have the widows cd but no floppy

my computer wont recognise my cd rom drive or cd player or dvd player ---it says d drive not ready----i wonder if something is off in my bios? or what -----any help is appreciated---john g

a drive is not working either---so it mustbe configured wrong maybe--------should i go into msconfig and edit each like above in config the the himem and emm386 are only things present-----thanks again for the help--------john g

yes i have windows98 cd and a system restoration cd but when i try to use them the message is d drive is not ready

both dvd and cd players load correctly but i get adevice isnt ready message when i tried to load from dos -command.com it says no drivers for cd---is there a place to get a windows 98 start up floppy?---any help is ggreatly appreciated

thanks yes had amajor crash its windows 98---im afraid i did somethig when irestart in dos then enter command.com it loads but finishes saying no driver for cd when i click on cd player and dvd they both load and disc spins but i get thedevice is not ready message

when i boot up it says missing driver cd1 but i cannot use cd rom or dvd it says device not ready
