Thanks setnaffa!
My entire experience is career-related and hands on. I'm not a book person. I've been taking some of these practice exams and the questions seem to be fairly simple, excluding the binary/hexadecimal stuff. Is the true A+ exam a simple test if you have over 5 years of hands on...
Thanks jtb!

I'm looking for a site that has transcenders and practice test. Hopefully a free site but if all you know is a pay site then that's fine. Thanks.

Do anyone know of a good site that has transcenders or good certification practice test? Currently I use a site called "CramSession.com" which emails me free A+ practice questions everyday. This is good, but are there anymore that are similar? I'm hoping to find free sites, but if all you...
Thanks gacollier!
I'll give that a try and will let you know my outcome! I'm not too familiar with the IPSec settings but I'll play with them a bit and see if I can make something happen.

Do anyone know if there is a way to automatically start a VPN client at boot up?
I have a client machine that I put on the VPN (from client site) and then access it through PCAnywhere from home and I would like to reboot the machine and still be able to access it. I know PCAnywhere has an...

I get this problem once in a while! Sometimes I can see the entire page title and other times I can't. It's been going on for a few months now and I'm just curious to know what is going on. When I open Internet Explorer the page title shows only one letter. Example: At the top of this page...
I have resolved this issue. In Outlook 2003 you will go to File>New>Outlook Data File and create a new .pst using Outlook 97-2000 Personal Folder File (.pst). Once created you would copy/paste the Outlook 2003 data file into the created Outlook 97-2000 data file. Transfer that newly created...
My problem is that I created a .pst file in Outlook 2003 and now I'm trying to open that .pst file in Outlook XP. I get an error message "Can't open". Do anyone have any suggestions, tips, or solution? All answers are appreciated. Thanks.

Do you have evidence that this is taking place?
Have you seen an email from the account (with your name)?
Or
Is this all he say/she say?
Are they using it publically or internally?
You only have a case if you can prove it. And sometimes it's hard to prove, especially with a larger company...
Thanks for your reply. And that is the simplest way. But I'm sorry I forgot to mention that has already been attempted. The corruption seems to also affect importing the mail to .pst There is about 900MB of files needed to be saved and during the process it died at about 10MB. Basically, it...
I'm using Exchange 5.5 I have a client with a corrupt mailbox. I ran a scan on the client machine and server. Fixed the errors on the client machine, but shortly after I did a scan again and the errors returned. This has given me reason to believe that the server is hosting the errors. I...
There is a lot of dropped connections and suspicious activity going on. It may not be a concern but I would be alarmed! You may want to invest in a network sniffer and see what's going on.
Good luck!

Also, this may not help if only one user is experiencing this issue but I would also check the Account Policies Lockout Duration settings:
1. Go to START>RUN type gpedit.msc
2. Under Computer Configuration expand Windows Settings
3. Expand Security Settings
4. Expand Account Policies
5...
If I'm understanding right you want users to access files that are on server2 but from server1:
Are you able to create a shortcut to the file from server2 onto server1?
This would be the simplest solution. I'm assuming you plan to keep server2 online, but if not, then you can transfer server2...
I agree with the MAC Address filtering. But in case that isn't a go then possibly a good proxy server may do the trick. Set the proxy to authenicate the machine when trying to access the internet/network.
Good luck!

I don't think it's overkill. As long as it's not being used as a mail server or holding large databases. I think it'll be fine. I would monitor it for the first few weeks and check the processes and performance, just to be sure it's holding up. It sounds like the server is real basic. You...
