    rttndawg - actually no it's not. This is part of service pack 3 in Office XP. It gets activated by default.

    Hi again. My suggestion referred to the contacts in your personal file. To get that out go to file, import and export, select export to a file. Select pst format, and conatcs folder. Then export that to an easy to get to area - maybe desktop. Copy that to the other pc. Then go file, import and...

    Change the default one to the new one, and delete the old one - this option is in tools, settings.

    The only way I can think of doing this is to export your contacs each time you add a new person, and import them into the other persons Outlook - it's a long way around, but it works.

    Try right clicking on your contacts folder, go to properties, and de-select the display as an address book. Apply, and then re-select. Ok to that & try again. If not, copy all contacts to a new address book, and delete the contacts and then re-import them. Good luck Doug

    Firstly, the two comments are 100% correct - you can't open read only pst files, so make sure these are not read only. You also can't open files that are not available exclusively to Outlook. You may also want to try dumping the file onto a different pc and then opening the pst file from there...

    Go to tools, email accounts. Select view or edit existing accounts, and then click on new data file. You can also delete the old location once you have the new one set as default. You will probably have to search for the pst file first (search local hard drives for *.pst)
