the os i'm using is XP. i'd also like to add that i haven't activated it just yet as i have made a new install after formatting the entire system. after having some time to dwell on it, does the disk HAVE to have a primary partition. the system is composed of 2 physical drives (20 GB and 80GB)...
i tired using format in the command line and it wouldn't do that. i also have partitioned it. i'd also like to say that for some reason fdisk says that the drive is only like 11 GB when its really 80 and the disk manager says it only has a little over 72 GB. i may be mistaken but i'm pretty sure...
When I right click an unformatted partition using the disk management utility I don't get and option that asks if I want to format (I do). I'm logged in as the system admin and I'm the only person on the system. I'm sure its easy to solve but its late right now. I'm no moron and I'm about A+...
So basically If I have a Win95 cd I can use that to install XP upgrade but I cannot use an actual installation of Win95. Cool, thanks a lot. I'll be getting right on that format.
Ok that's not quite what I meant. I already have upgraded from ME to XP on my machine. When I did that before I didn't format my harddrive and (as I remember it) was able to keep all my previous files. Since my drive wasn't formatted all I had to do was run the setup and it detected that ME was...
Can I format my main hardrive and install windows XP upgrade using an oem disk with winodws ME on it? The only windows OS's that I have were preinstalled on my system. I might have a copy of windows 95, but I don't think the the XP upgrade is compatible with windows 95.
no, i've never setup a firewall ever on my desktop. and for the record my media player is still malfunctioning with the application error. updating doesn't help so i'm considering whiping it clean from the registry. and thank you for posting the faq in a html link as opposed to a javascript one.
i beleive i have the media player problem under control, but as far as any clue towards my browser not reading javascript, no dice. i know its not spyware and i'm sure that whatever it is is designed purely to disable popup ads although it bleeds over into other uses of the script. case in...
that javascript error is preventing me from clicking on those links to the faqs. on a side note the desktop was working again this morning and i know that the only thing that was done was shut my computer for the night (i wrote the post at like 2 or 3 AM) the media player still says application...
my mouse refuses to interact with my desktop in almost anyway. the only thing that works is the right click and that only works when i have selected something with the keyboard. other than that my mouse works fine in windows and the start menu. at the same time internet explorer refuses to read...
i have windows XP and i have basically the same problem
the exception is that i cannot interact at all in the desktop using my mouse and secondly internet explorer won't read most javascript pertaining to opening new windows. there are some exceptions to this javascript rule but that's basically...
