    What is the exact error message? You say you re-installed Windows 2000. Has the machine account been re-created in the domain?

    Did you check the version of the RPC DLL as well as checking the registry entries? The RPC DLL version should match that of the OS. It's all in here... http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?kbid=325930
