I recently brought up a Microsoft Operations Manager Server on my network and ever since it's installation the server's CPU has been pegged at 100%. The alerts / notifications seem to trigger all right but I'm noticing some timeout errors in the Event Log of the monitored servers - mostly agents...
Does anyone know if there if there a technical limitation to the number of BES servers you can place in an Active Directory domain and / or forest? Any advice is appreciated. Thanks.
From a licensing perspective, the SBS 2K3 Transition Pack that you will use to upgrade the current SBS server will provide your licensing for the W2K3 server operating system. You would then need to purchase the license for Exchange 2K3 beyond that.
Any ideas as to how one would wipe a Cisco 1760 back to factory default settings, you are unable to log onto the router at all. Is there a hardware option to do that if I have physical access to the device? Any pointers are greatly appreciated. Thanks.
Referring to the first posting in this thread, you'll have to upgrade your exchange installation to 2k3 first before you can upgrade the OS to 2k3. Exchange 2000 won't run on Windows 2003. A couple of good resources for what you are looking to do follow below...
A strange issue it seems. From time to time, some of my users attempting to send mail outbound to external addresses through my Exchange 2003 server receive the '550 5.7.1 Unable to relay' message. These are internal users and have been authenticated to my mail server. What's more, is that it...
I hope this doesn't find you too late but I would advise you against installing in on DC. I did and tanked my CRM installation - so far I haven't been able to resolve the issue. Microsoft recommends against it unless it is on a SBS installation. And unfortunately there seems to a dearth of...
I am attempting to extend OWA to employees in the field but I'm running into what seems to be an ISA - SSL problem. Internally, my SSL OWA server runs fine - no problems with certificates, authentication or speed.
However when I run the 'Publish Web Access Server' wizard in ISA and open OWA to...
Does anyone know if the 16 GB limit for the 'Standard' edition of Exch 2003 is per database or for the total of all information stores. The following link http://www.microsoft.com/exchange/evaluation/overview/default.asp isn't very specific. Any clarity on the topic would be most helpful. Thanks...
Over the past weekend, I brought up an Exchange 2K3 server (running on W2K3 OS) and since then the message queue has been slowly building. Intially (within the first 12 hours) it jumped to about 150 message queues and since then it has steadily risen to about 250 to 300. When I look at the...
I have a virtual SMTP server in my DMZ that I am would like to use as a relay to my Exchange server on my internal network. I have configured the proper outbound packet filters for SMTP from the DMZ and tested it successfully to external email addresses ie. john@hotmail.com. However, when I...
I need to configure a Windows 2003 Terminal Server running in Application Mode in a Netware 5.1 environment and I wonder if anyone out there may know of any good links and /or tutorials that they could pass on to me. I have very little exposure to Novell so I'd like to know if there are any...
The 'Alternate Recipient' solution has worked for me albeit only partially. Internal is forwarded on correctly though any external email (eg. hotmail, yahoo etc.) doesn't get forwarded at all. Any ideas anyone?

The backup job is quite small actually - only about 36 GB being backed up to a 40 GB DLT tape in a single tape device (DEll PowerVault 110T). There is no 'Verify on Completion' and if left alone, the Friday backup will run until Monday morning when I cancel it. Once it backups up what it is...
I have Backup Exec 9.0 running on a W2K Server Exchange / File and Print Server. The nightly backup seems to run successfully (it backs up the correct amount of data and the log files indicate that it is backing up the appropriate files) but the backup job will run indefinitely until it is...
Has anyone run into any compatibility issues with Backup Exec 8.0 and Windows 2003 Server (either DC or member server). I'm at the outset of a network migration and I wonder if there is anything I should be watching for. Any advice or suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.
