You can also invest in iMUX from Verilink or another vendor. They can handle up to 4 t1s if I remeber correctly. Then you connect the Imux to your router via HSSI.
Make your self a hard loop, and plug it right off the smart jack. The other side should come up as up/up looped. If you continue to see errors, do the same on the opposite side. If you continue to see errors, then the problem is on the telco's network.

So if you don't put one in, its going to treat it as a Class A address, 10.0.0.0 255.0.0.0.
Try 10.0.0.0 255.255.252.0, or better yet, give us the output of show ip eigrp topology
