In the last week I have begun getting literally thousand of 'undeliverable message' emails on one of my machines. In looking at the header information it appears that the email account is being used to send out pornographic spam. The system has had up to date virus software and definitions, all...
Yes, I got it fixed. I applied the revised hot fix KB823803 from Microsoft. Apparently the initial patch was buggy and my problem occured after appliying it. The revised patch did the trick.
I have a NT 4 service pack 6 machine on my network connected to the internet via a DSL modem. Recently I tried to connect to the internet and was unable to open any pages. I can ping the DNS server successfully but Internet Explorer (IE6) will not connect to any site. When I went to IE...
I have finally gotten the OK to upgrade our company's accounting software. We are currently using Peachtree Complete 2003. We have 10 people who will need access to the software with usually no more than 5 working in the system at the same time. We do about $30M annually. I have been researching...
My system has XP Home installed on a 20GB Western Digital drive. I want to copy the entire drive to a new 40GB drive. Western Digital has a great program, Data Lifeguard Utilities, for copying one WD drive to another. I've used this on many occasions with Win98 machines with great success. Are...
I installed IE security patch dated 2-14-02 (the most recent one) on my XP Home system this morning. Now the system will not boot normally. I can boot into safe mode but it won't let me boot into 'last known good' mode or boot normally.
No other software or hardware has been installed since the...
You're right, Data Lifeguard is not compatable with WinXP. That is why I am looking for an alternative method. It looks like Norton Ghost 2002 is the best solution however I keep hoping that Western Digital will come up with a utility for XP.
I want to copy my C: drive to a larger capacity drive in XP. Both drive are Western Digital. WD has a good piece of software, Data Lifeguard, that I have used successfully many times in Win 9x, but it doesn't work in XP.
Any tips on how to safely copy the drive?
Thanks
I had a similar problem going from complete 7 to 8. A number of forms that I had created, invoices, custom reports, etc. changed font size. I had to redesign them all to adjust the font. I called Peachtree support and they told me it was a printer driver problem. I doubt that is the case as I...
Before updating our software to 2002 I was looking for some feeback from users who have migrated to ver. 2002. Any bugs, quirks? Did the update go smoothly?
Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.
I had a similar problem and it was due to an older printer driver. See if there is a more recent driver available and try that.
I did find that Complete 7 was very picky about printer drivers. Complete 8 seems much more stable in that regard.
Good Luck.
My NT server shows open resources and files in use after the workstations have closed them and logged off. I have to manually close the files in NT before I can run backups or do certain administrative tasks.
For example, in Peachtree accounting I have to have all users logged off to change the...
