SMC say that the SMC7407BRA is a PPPoE problem with my ISP. The technicians in Taiwan are working on new firmware. No dates. The Eircom modem still hasn't arrived, Monday 5:00 pm.- fjk55

Yeah, begining to believe it is something with ISP. They have confirmed that I am using correct Username, password, VPI/VCI, encapsulation. Waiting over two weeks, yes two weeks, for ole Combi 1 to arrive. I met Neil Armstrong last Monday. Thirty four years ago it took him less time than that...- fjk55

Having tried tech support (hardware and ISP), Google and signed up to Tek-Tips, I am now busy researching the forums. Slow work on 56K modem.
