Ok so I've got a clients PC that will not display backrounds or pictures correctly regardless of wich version of IE I use or which active X controls I use. Most pages come up with black lines (boxes) around everything. Some backround images come up, some don't. All the obvious reset settings...
I once re-soldered the power input recptacle component on a laptop motherboard. Recently the small 3 prong component has quit working, anyone know where to get one? It is the small component where the power cable plugs into the laptop.
laptop is an HPze4230.
It is a Dell E-value code similar to:
6V620-iB130S1
The code shows up in the address bar as:
?c=us&cs=19&fb=1&l=en&oc=iB130RDM1&s=dhs
I am trying to convert it back to xxxxx-xxxxxx + or - x.
I am trying to convert/retrieve a text string in one of these 2 formats XXXXX-XXXXXX or XXXXX-XXXXX
from this IE address bar code.
?c=us&cs=19&fb=1&l=en&oc=iB130RDM1&s=dhs
Any Ideas?

Ahh, I didnt think of adding a 2nd Ethernet port. I just got a 2610 with a wic-t1 off Ebay for $195.. what a steal. Looks like the Ethernet module is called NM-1E and NM-4E. I'll have to buy one of those and maybe I'll be up and running. I may get a second wic for fun.
A few questions. Read all the questions first if you might answer because they are somewhat redundant.
1. can an unloaded (no modules) 2610 with aux, console and ethernet port be connected and used as a single router for a lan like you would use a linksys broadband router? If not what do I...
Problem:
Just added 2 XP Home PC's to an existing 3 PC (XP Also) Network. The new PC's can see the workgroup and all printers. The problem is that I can't seem to share the My Doc's folder on an existing PC with the new ones. It says access denied. Why would this happen? The user and group...

I'm building a 2000 server for a small company. They currently have one Novell 4.11 Server. The only thing I need off the old Novell server are the shared files used by the employees. Once I get the 2 servers side by side on the network, what is the best way to do this assuming that I dont know...
During the first few minutes of the install of SP3 I got a blue screen. The blue screen comes up regardless of what I try ( safe mode , etc .)
The error is:
kmode_exception_not_handled.
Now what.
