Don't believe so. I have all the server in a temp controled
room. I am woundering if this might be from the Bind 8.0 security bug. I need to patch it. Is this the kind of thing that would happen on a denial of services attack? Just seems strange, you would think it would just crash. Rather then...
I have a FreeBSD 5.0 live system that has rebooted itself twice (the last two weekends). I had the system running for sometime with this just starting two weeks ago. I do make adjustments to the spam filtering constantly. The system logs show nothing to a reason why. It does not even have any...
After I updated to Perl 5.8.2 some of my mail scanning program stopped working. I traced to to suidperl.
It does not look like it was included in Perl 5.8.2.
Can I get it? Or do I need a new solution.
Just a note all worked fine before I updated Perl on my FreeBSD 5.0 box to perl 5.8.2
I currently have qmail running as long as I do not add the lines to the tcp.smtp. I removed these lines to get things working again after the perl update. I did make sure I install the perl modules need for...
Ok, I got it working.
It was a syslog issue. Syslog was core dumping because it was unable to create the /var/run/log file for some reason.
I installed msyslog it would not load at first either but it was erroring out at could not create /dev/log file. So with the -p option I started the...
I got an application I am trying to get going using the Sys::syslog. When it starts I am getting an error.

Just for I know strict is part of the core library?
But you think it is one of the other use Modules it calling need to be reinstalled. I will give it a try. I did look for strict module but only could download it with the perl distribution. I will let you know how it goes.
Thanks for your help!
you are correct as far as if I use strict; in a perl script it does work. The problem is this program worked until I undated Perl. I don't understand why, but this is not the only program that died. They report other modules like Paser.pm as missing too. Yet they are all their and work if I call...
I was just looking in the ports under the
release-5.0. The latest port is 5.8.0_2. I don't know
what will happen if I install it. There is a port for 4.9-stable at perl-5.8.2_1.
Is there a way to uninstall the latest.tar.gz version?
Or will the Port get everything in sync?
I installed perl 5.8.2 on to my FreeBSD 5.0 box.
I have some application not starting since. They are complaining about not fine strict.pm.

Can't locate strict.pm in @INC (@INC contains: /usr/local/lib/perl5/5.8.2/i386-freebsd /usr/local/lib/perl5/5.8.2...
After upgrading to Perl 5.8.2 qmail stop sending mail.
qmailctl stat shows all is running.
But I get
"No transport provider was available for delivery to this recipient."
