thanks for replying, i was using 98 previously and have upgraded to 2000, it was much faster using 98. I am using a dial up connection at 40kbps. I thought it may have been that the java site that i was downloading from was busy, but now live update from Norton has stuck and that is usually...- readingjerry

problem with chat on windows 2k
Hi I have just upgraded to windows 2K from '98, but my hard drive was formatted before installation. I now find that i get a connection box with a red cross on it in the chat room. Apparently I need Java for it, but cannot use MJSAV86.exe, which is apparently the cure for the problem in XP. I...- readingjerry
