We've been running our BES on vmware ESX since we implemented Blackberry's years ago. Nothing special or tweaks to worry about. Just treat it as a normal VM server setup/install.
I couldn't find a GPO to do this so I just used the following registry entry to disable it for each users on our Citrix boxes:
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Printers\Settings]
"EnableBalloonNotificationsRemote"=dword:00000000
Outlook 2000 SP3 w/ KB834005 applied - Installed on a Windows 2000 Server SP3 w/ Citrix Metaframe - Exchange 2003 Enterprise
The issue we are having is that users are reporting that Outlook 2000 is hanging when it is first launched in the morning. Basically, Outlook launches then hangs (not...
Brandon,
We ran into this problem building our Metaframe XP farm a while back. An administrator can launch a PDF in a browser, but a user receives either a red X or page cannot be displayed. The problem was the initial install of Acrobat....I forgot to do a change user /install or go through...
One of my Win2000 FR3 boxes stopped accepting pass through authentication from the client. Basically, instead of automatically logging them in with their domain creditials, it prompts them to login again. This is happening with a full desktop as well as published apps from this 1 server...rest...
Win2003 SP1 Server. We cannot connect to the eventvwr or computer management console remotely from another PC on our domain (start - run - eventvwr - right click - choose connect to another computer) to this server only. Error message states "Network Path Not Found." I can ping and perform a...
I'm assuming when you are saying suite, you are running ServerProtect on your servers and OfficeScan on your desktop clients? OfficeScan allows you to scan each computer on your network as long it's installed. Bascially, just open the web management console...should look something like this...
I just finished last week installing SP4 on my FR3 farm...mixed 2000/2003. I have had no problems. Just make sure to update the Windows Installer to 3.0 which is in the documentation.
When I pushed out the latest DCT from Trend this morning (577), I received about a 100 or so emails notifying me about this virus from most of my users. Trend immediately updated the DCT to 578...I'm suspecting that they might have had a false positive problem with this virus.
I believe all you need to do is to log into the local console of the box using domain credentials...In other words change the Log in to box on the local console to the domain, login in then log off. All future connects via a Citrix connection will show Log in to and your domain rather than the...
Unfortunately, using the Print As Image option is the only way we can get these items to even print. When we unselect Print as Image, a blank page with nothing prints. When we select Print as Image, the PDF prints; however, it is still reversed...black background - white text. My next step my...
Thank you both for your replies. lb...we are using Win2PDF to create any regular PDF's...however these PDF's are created by proprietary software by the vendors. After contacting the vendors, these PDF files are really TIFF files with a PDF wrapper. terry...we are running SP3 and already have...
We have a Win2000 FR3 Citrix environment (full desktops) using the UPD for all remote printing. We have a PDF printing problem that has popped up recently for remote users. Users can print standard Word and Excel files fine; however, PDF files are printing with a black background and white...
Since upgrading to their latest version of Praetor, we have not had many false/positives...it's definetly less than 1%. We've been very pleased. Praetor also offers the LDAP/AD check which verifies that the email addresses are valid to further help with SPAM.

1. Start Registry Editor (Regedit.exe).
2. Locate and then click the following key in the registry...
If you want to setup a scheduled task to reboot the Terminal Server, I would use tsshutdn (system32 folder) rather than shutdown.exe. tsshutdn is used in terminal server environments...it can take in consideration any opened sessions as well as notify those open sessions that you are rebooting...
