We have a user with a brand new B179 conference phone with the extension mics. They claim when both mics are plugged in they get a horrible squeal on calls and if only one mic or no mics are plugged in they have a bad echo issue. Has anyone else run into this sort of thing? I see nothing...
We have users that need to have the ENABLE FILESYSTEM / FILEXFER / ANNOUNCEMENT-BOARD commands in CM but we want them restricted from other commands. Where in the user-profile is the FILESYSTM / FILEXFER / ANNOUNCEMENT-BOARD command granted/restricted?
Don't forget, you have to do a REM IP-INTERFACE to take out the interface before removing the boards. Also the REM CABINET will be needed if you are taking out an entire G650 cabinet.
Has anyone turned on the "Agent Greeting" function for 96x1 phones under H.323 6.4 firmware? We are doing a proof of concept but are having some issues and questions about the storage of the greeting.
Also remember when creating the .jpg file, it does have size limitations. If your file is bigger than the size limitation of 160x320 it will not display. There are specific size limits based upon the model of your phone that you can look up in the administration guides.
it must be named of the format avayab179-MACADDRESS.xml The phone then finds it. You can not set the time format or screen display with this file, that must be done via the web access.
I have ended up creating a unique file for each phone based upon it's MAC address and loading it as a custom file upload on the Utility Server. Now the phones will upgrade their firmware and then search for this file for configuration. After this file loads the configuration and the phone logs...
Has anyone used the device management option for the B179 phones to maintain and/or receive their settings? Any advice on setting this up would be great.
To check the firmware do the following on the phone:
Press the HOME button
Scroll down to ABOUT Avaya IP Deskphone (make sure it is highlighted)
Press OK
A screen will appear showing the release. Mine says Release 6.401U which I know relates to firmware version 6.04.01U on our firmware server...
Does anyone know of a way to save a settings file (.xml) for the B179 conference phones that can download to the phone from a firmware file server (Utility Server) for all of the phones so we don't have to log into each phone and load the file.
It would point to the session manager for the connectivity and the registration but it still has to get the 46xxsettings.txt file to retrieve those addresses from that file.
When the phones are H.323 they find the 46xxsettings.txt file just fine but then you change them to SIP, it downloads the software, upgrades the phones firmware and then goes out to DHCP and gets an IP address but can not find the 46xxsettings.txt file or any other file on the file server after...
We are having an issue where once the 9620 / 9650 are upgraded with the SIP firmware the phone no longer finds the 46xxsettings.txt file or any files on the file server. If you change the SIG back to H.323 it does not pull those firmware files either. Has anyone had this experience? The phones...
Having a problem with the upgrading of the 96x1 phones to SIP firmware. We are using the AVAYA MVTEL product as our file server and we have changed the SIG to equal 2 for SIP. The phone goes out and gets the initial files but then gets stuck in a reboot loop saying it can not obtain the files...
