How to delete data stored on the tape
IMHO.. 1) Get a New tape, tape is cheap. 2) Backup only what you need to backup 3) Using tape as Archive is too time consuming. Buy a harddrive. Drives are cheap.- CinciTech

HP 12/24 DAT - Backup Exec asking for tape 2 at 10.4GB
FYI... When a tape is labeled 24G as in the DDS-3 that is with IDEAL compression of 2:1. This is usually not the case. As for getting less than what would be considered 1/2 the "advertised capacity" or 1:1 ratio, that is something that I have never seen myself. Are you possibly...- CinciTech

BAD MEDIA / CYCLIC REDUNDNCY
FYI... CRC's, bad blocks, etc.. The majority of these errors that are being reported are by the hardware back to the software. These CODES that are sent back are for some reason.
