Excel 2010 in a corporate environment.
Windows XP SP3
Issue: Open an excel spreadsheet that has 6 columns of information to be entered. (1 row to say, 50 rows).
I've created a macro button to "Send it" which when I recorded the macro, I went through the entire process up to and including...
we're finding that we have about 4 different versions installed from being a long running Novell house.. so what we've found is that what works for one version won't work for the other versions.
I think we've decided to try to snap all four versions and then create an uninstall package from...
Yea, that's kinda where we are now, but we're needing to have a 100% no user intervention. I know the scripting part may work, and if we have to then I suppose we will.
ugh. :)
Thanks though !!
Scenario: We have a large number of workstations which have iprint installed on them (using three seperate versions) and we're wanting to uninstall the iprint client silently (as best we can) and without end user intervention.)
We've looked online (even at Novell's site) and haven't had any...
Scenario - Multiple (over 100) distribution groups listed in AD. all have the same owner. this owner is moving to a new department, and we'll need to change the owner of these DG's to someone else.
Is there an automated way of doing this? or do I have to "touch" each DG?
Thanks,

Using Microsoft Office Outlook 2003 (11.8169.8172) SP3
User has a signature that looks like this:
First Name Last Name

When she sends a regular email, everything works fine, but when she replies to an email it looks like this:

But in using the createdate, I'm limited to the header and footer.. This needs to be as in a date field for a memo document.
Is it possible to use this field somehow outside of a header or footer?
Thanks for your response, but I'm afraid that didn't quite answer the question. Okay, so if date field is the CURRENT date, and I can understand that... then how would one be able to cause today's date to appear for the generation of the memo, and then lock from being changed when saved as a...
Scenario - User has setup document template letterhead. In the letterhead is a date field in which autoupdate is turned OFF.
Owner brings up template, it shows today's date. He enters the memo body, and saves as a document, thereby generating the memo to send out.
Recipient opens memo.doc up...
Something else to look at -
When the monitor changes to amber, does the PC continue to run? or does it appear to go to sleep? (blinking power light etc)
If the machine appears to continue to run, it could be a problem with the video driver/graphics card. Try booting to the startup (F8...
So would I have to do that on the offending machine or on the machine subject to the shutdown?
I guess the bigger question is, When someone issues the shutdown command from computer "A" to computer "B" is he actually executing the shutdown command on computer "B" ??
Sometimes the best way to get what your looking for is to just put it out there.. :)
The scenario: A very small group of computers/users, who have recently been having fun with the remote shutdown command in WinXP.
The Question: How to "prevent" someone from being able to execute a remote...
Thank you both for the response. I wound up finding another video card which was 64mb instead of 32mb, so I swapped, and the problem is resolved.
This PC doesn't have the integrated video, but that's what I thought at first when I switched the video card, and it started doing this.. I went...
Hello, This is insane!
I have a compaq 5wv254 (5002US) which is an 800mhz AMD, with WinXP. When I replaced the video card (upgrade) with an ATI RAGE 128 32mb AGP card, the PC began this routine of not showing any video until it actually gets up into WinXP (Hal Init?) but I'm not able to see the...
The NTRights utility would have been the way to go, but the other day I was thinking about the other options and I decided to open 3389 on the router and try RDP and it worked! I was able to go right in and edit the policy and life is good.
I was also able to locate the NTRights util on the...
You'll love this.
Saturday I built up a server, complete with fileshare permissions, VPN access, and the whole nine yards (XP PRO with SP2 by the way, and I know about the limited functionality of VPN on XP, but hey, it does what we need it to do) so after getting it all put together, I wanted...
