Thanks for your help every body. But with regards to booting from the cd,that is what I initally tried.I did not get the option to reformat the drive it just started to reinstal by itself, and unfortunatly not to erase anything.

I tried to reinsatll xp, inserted the cd etc. But I thought(stupidly) that windows would erase everything on the disk before it reinsalled itself. Of course it did not. So I have got all sorts of problems with old settings,bugs before they where patched etc. Can someone please inform me how to...

Even though I seem to have set up the ISP and the password, whenever I try to use OE2000 it will ask me for my password and theb inform that it is incorrect. The result is that I have to log on to tiscali's main site, which is slow and a bit of a pain. P.S. all accounts etc seem to be in order.
