    TOC link to paperspace tabs

O.K. Here is another paperspace tab question. Is there a way to have say a table of contents in a tab with hot links that allow a person to immediately go to a certain tab. I am trying to prevent scrolling endlessly through a large amount of tabs in paperspace. Again, any help would be...

    infinite tabs in paper space?

Hi all, Is there a limit to the amount of paperspace tabs in AutoCAD? I have a possible project that may require a couple hundred tabs per CAD file. I've never had more than about 25 up so I really don't know the limit. Any help would be appreciated. Jon

    paperspace scaling in 2006

O.K. Everything has been back to normal now for a while...I don't know what happened but I suspect something was blasted in 2006 when I uninstalled an older version of CAD...weird. Anyhow thanks for all the help from everyone, I appreciate it. Jon JPD-Illustration

    paperspace scaling in 2006

I have a titleblock in paperspace. For the past year I have been using ctrl 1 to bring up the properies menu and adjusting my scale to whatever I have drawn at 1 to 1 in modelspace. This then allows me to print out at 1 to 1 and my drawings are 3/4" = 1", 1/2" = 1", whatever. Well, today I...

    IGES command

I think I'm going crazy, in the Insert menu for AutoCAD 2005 the IGES command is there and works fine. In AutoCAD 2006 it is not there. Did Autodesk in it's infinite wisdom do away with the IGES in the latest version? Jon

    publish command

Heres my problem... I need to have my various layouts within a drawing batch plotted as pdf files according to the layout name I give it. What I'm getting is if I have say 10 layouts in a drawing called XX, the publish commmand will grab all 10 files and list them in the sheet name column but...

    autocad entry-level work

I'd have to say if you are comfortable with creating graphics in AutoCAD that is the easy part. Where you find a job is where the learning cureve may be. You'll have to get to know not only the product but how a certain company may want you follow their CAD standards...or lack of. Also your...

    XP Pro password change countdown

I may have asked this before but I can't find the thread or answer. I have XP Pro on one machine and it is now telling me that I have 10 days to change the password. I have another machine with XP Pro and I have had the same password for 3 years. How do I keep the first machine from wanting me...

    Disabling floppy drive

I have an old Gateway 450 Pentium 3. I added in a newer dvd drive a while back and for some reason I had to unplug my floppy drive (super drive) or the dvd player would not work. So for quite sometime now the computer looks for the floppy on start up and I need to push the ESC key so it will...

    Autodesk and my bloodpressure

Thanks for the 2 cents, it's always cool to have more input and no it's never too harsh...i saw one forum that was ungodly out of conotrol...but i digress. I do realize these programs over the years have become more complicated...I prefer bloated simply because software companies can't seem to...

    Autodesk and my bloodpressure

Yep, I have a gig of ram on my 2 year old dell and 2006 definitely slows it down...looks like I'll have to stuff another gig in there and then wait for the miracle workers at Autodesk to screw up the next version...maybe it's time to switch.

    Autodesk and my bloodpressure

Without going on too much of a rant, I just gotta say I am sick and tired of whomever it is at Autodesk that feels the need to constantly screw with this program. In my opinion the last decent version was R14. Ever since then things have gone down hill. I'm from the Generation X crowd so I love...

    pdf file size

I go to plot/properties/custom properties/adobe pdf settings/edit conversion settings/compression. From there I can adjust the dpi settings. though i have noticed that newer versions of AutoCAD have smaller pdf files. So since I'm running 2000i my pdf files are a lot larger than the same pdf...

    pdf file size

Does anyone have any idea about how to bring the file size of a pdf down. I'm creating simple furniture elevation drawings in 2000i and my pdf files are running about 225k to 250k. I'm using adobe distiller and my client says the files are too large. Other files I see from my clients other...

    Rendered CAD to Illustrator?

Well, the problem here is I need editible artwork so I guess I'm in need of vector artwork. Swift 3d didn't meet my needs. Whereas 3D max can take a solid and change it to a wireform (not a wireframe) like a chanin link fence effect, Swift 3D could not. It just gave me a solid plane. I also...

    exporting rendered CAD files

I'll give that a try. If Adobe could import true 3D models I probably wouldn't have a problem here. Thanks for the answer. Jon
