I have a Winxp pro laptop that is suddenly getting this error message at login. This pc is up to date on antivirus files but i'm not 100% sure on MS critical updates. Microsoft suggests creating a new user account but I want to know if i have any option to restore the old profile.

well, i got the pc in my possession and this is all i tried:
safe mode, safe mode w/networking, last known configuration.
all of these didn't work.
im going to try some of the stuff from the last post from linney angd go with that. i should have an update tonight or tomorrow.
