I've found a workaround for my problem, if I manually move tapes from the save set back into the scratch set, everything runs ok, so its almost like something is wrong with the function that controls the GFS setup.

David,
You're right, I meant I was using * for the tape set in the media pool (GROUP 0) in this case. But I have had CA tell me to check my "r" files but not the asmedia, what are those?
Thanks
Sean
I have been using the * for media pool name and I still am having the same problem as loafster. Arcserve 9 on widnows 2000, the job is set to append, any media then blank from ym tape autoloader but lately it has started saying it cant locate any media?
I'm going to rebuild the server from...
I have append, use any tape then blank media chosen, my auto-loader tape library is online (I use a SONY AIT 30 tape library) and if I turn all the engines in the job watcher screen off then on again I can run a job manually, but the scheduler has completely crapped out giving me the same errors...
I'm running AIT3 over 100MB, using a 64 bit PCI scsi card only running the tape drive. I get backup speeds closer to 180-220 MB per minute, but I think most of that is that the AIT3 drive is faster recording than LTO (it runs the tape over the head fewer times). I'm looking at switching all of...
CA tech support told me that the GW agent for Netware only works if you are backing up to an Arcserve for Netware server (which I'm not, I use Win2K advanced). They suggested I try using the Open File Agent to back up my groupwise files, but everytime I try to back up my GW 5.5 server using the...
Are you sure? I am running Windows 2000 Arcserve on a Netwar 5.0 GroupWise 5.5 server with the groupwise client agent and I'd be real pissed to find out that its never going to work (I'm trying to set it up right now).

If you're not using IPX you're probably fine and it'll run ok without it. It uses IPX to backup SAP data, but since you are running pure IP (which is good by the way, IPX is very chatty and slows down the network) you'll get the error message, but as long as you setup the configs for the nwagent...
