I found that my router IOS doesn't support PPPoE.(12.2(17)
at least i think it doesn't, i may be doing something wrong.
Also, I spoke with my ISP, they said they're using PPP. They didn't say anything about PPPoE.
Is it still possible to connect to my ISP with my 1605 router with standard ppp...

I am almost finished developing my website. I designed it in 1024 X 768 resolution mode. When I switched my computer to 800 x 600 i found my webpage to be jumbo sized. is there any magical way to reduce it to 800 x 600 without redesigning the page. I want to have both resolution types running on...
Another thing is, companies are beginning to use VPN's to connect each other instead of using frame relay. I just don't the big picture, why would they do that?
Hi..got it fixed. thanks. the problem was with my wiring configuration and with a setting on my LAN NIC- apparantly i don't need to enter a default gateway on my internal NIC.
Is frame relay cheaper, more reliable, more efficient then getting a ADSL business package. As mentioned above I can get that business package for $150 /month.
Do get frame relay services from an ISP?
I also saw this
ROM: System Bootstrap, Version 12.0(3)T, RELEASE SOFTWARE (fc1)
what exactly is the system bootscrap version. does my 12.2(17) over ride that version?
This is my ISO version. Copied from show version.

Im pretty sure it supports PPPOE, but not 100%.

What is the main reason to go with frame relay, ATM, X.25. I understand that its used to connect sites together(WAN). But why not go with ADSL. I can get a ADSL business package with 5 static IP addresses, 15 GB/month Internet connection traffic, (10 GB/month down, 5 GB/month up.
I have two PC's and one hub.
Main PC: XP pro with 2 NICS (same brand)

Hi.. it seems like we are doing exactly the same thing. Im using a 1605 router though. Hear is the link thread557-684044 adding this comment:
access-list 1 remark used for nat
I noticed you are using RIP ver 2. Do you need that statement for the internal LAN to get out?
Hi..
Sorry for reposting this topic. Back in June I was trying to configure my 1605 to be a internet router. Here is my configuration
adsl-----1605/e0/dhcp from isp
1605/e1/internal NAT---------PC
I can get the PC to ping e0(ip from isp) but not beyond.
Im lost at what to do next...
I know this is a basic thing, but i don't know how to fix it.I have gif images which are borders(lines). it looks fine in full screen but as soon as i start adjusting the IE browser window the images don't follow the webpage. any suggestions would be great.
