I recently installed and set up Project Server 2003 on a small domain. We have about 5 users who will be using project. I would like to know if there are any articles, papers, or other resources you may know of that could help me understand how to use Project Server. I am new to project in...
I added the RAS server to the list of RAS and IAS servers in the Active Directory group on our PDC. I also rejoined the domain, then logged into the RAS server using a domain login. It now works. I'm not exactly sure why, but i'm glad it does. Thanks for trying to help me out, ewallig.
Hi everyone.
I have a Windows 2003 Server running RRAS joined to a domain. I am trying to establish a dial-in connection and have RRAS authenticate the user by CHAP authentication. I have enabled reversibly encrypted passwords and allowed the user dial-in access.
There seems to be a problem...
When would I want to use a Standard MAC address access list and when would I use a Extended. This is the first Cisco router I have ever worked with, so I am still in the dark on many aspects.
The switch we have is a Dell PowerConnect 2024, which is an unmanaged switch. There is no way to do any port security on this switch. As far as the router (Cisco 1760) goes, thats what I am trying to find out.
can't it be done with extended access lists ?"
That is what I would like to know. I tried using access-list 700, for instance:
access-list 700 deny abcd.abcd.abcd 0000.0000.0000
access-list 700 permit aaaa.aaaa.aaaa ffff.ffff.ffff
interface fastethernet0/0
bridge-group 1 input-address-list...
Is it possible to specify a list of mac addresses that are allowed to access the router, and prevent all others from doing so? Right now our Cisco 1760 is running as a DHCP server, so if anyone came into our office and plugged in a laptop, they would have access (although very limited) to our...
Hello everyone. I have noticed that my network is having some connection problems that I belive has to do with timeout settings on our Cisco 1760 router. Here is the setup:
PDC "Server" with 2 public addresses x.x.x.3 and x.x.x.4 and one private address of 192.168.1.254. All LAN pc's have...
I will try that Serbtastic, thank you. I am sure that will work. I would still like to know why this causes a problem though, just for my own knowledge. If anyone can enlighten me, I would truly appreciate it.
I have used this program called OmniPage Pro. It is basically an OCR (text recognition) program. It can read text on pretty much any scanned document or image. There are also many other programs that will probably do this, too. I suggest searching for free OCR programs on Google, and you...
Hello everyone!
I have a windows 2000 sbs functioning as our company's PDC. It has 3 NIC cards, 2 with public addresses and 1 with a private address. It also functions as our mail server, and the MX record points to mail.domain.com. I also have 2 host records named 'mail' for each of the...
Hello everyone.
I would like to find a way to password protect the installation of a program we have. The program has an installation file named Setup.exe. When a user runs this file, another file named XXXX.msi is run. I have found programs that allow me to protect the Setup.exe file, but...
I know there is a reg key for allowing plain text authentication. I am trying to get this working for a windows dailin connection. I just don't know what it is!
I am setting up an incoming connections on windows XP.
I am having trouble authenticating linux machines coming in among other things.
I know my problem is with allowin "plain text authentication" in XP.
How do I set that up on the machine? I believe it is a registry setting.
Thank you
Thank you donjohnson, I live in Miami so I guess it's only appropriate you helped me. I just have one last question, how would I load a saved config from the tftp server, just in case the router settings are ever lost again?
Hello everyone,
I just downloaded a new IOS for our router due to the TCP Stack vulnerability. I tried to install the new IOS using a TFTP server. I followed the instructions provided in a Cisco document. I chose not to erase the flash. When the new IOS was transferred, I had the router...
