The job was the local c$, d$, e$, registry and notes databases. It has been recreated more than once. I did not build the server or install arcserve so I cannot say as to the integrity of the build / install. That is probably where the problem lay. I did not investigate this any further as...
Scary Arcserve Problem and a bit of ranting and a general moan! I don't need a fix to this problem this is just a warning to do a manual file check of your backups, i.e. compare log totals to database totals to actual file totals on the drive.
First the big, scary problem...
1. A very big...
P.P.S. I have been working with Arcserve in this incarnation for seven months now, I did not originally install it (should have done a reinstall but I was waiting to rebuild all the servers). Here is one scary problem I have encountered:
1. A very big, scary one. I did a file count on the...
There's a customer involved??? And you believe them??? If it's consultancy you are providing then the best solution is the most cost effective one for the customer...reinstall. Tell them that working with CA support is a very protracted and sometimes (often) frustrating and fruitless...
Soory I have not checked back in a while... you have probably sorted it or given up. It is hard to give any advice beyond the standard stuff, i.e. what was the last thing done to the server before the job manager stopped working (get out the change control forms!). I have not come across this...
Nasty. What you running, sp, etc? Was it working before? What was the last thing done to server before this started happening? Do the jobs still run ok? Does this happen every time you try to look at job status? What patches have you applied to arcserve? Give me as much info as possible...

(config: NT4 Server, Arcserve 2000 SP2, OFM, SQL Agent)

Any ideas how to delete the pools, reg. setting maybe?
(config: NT4 Server, Arcserve 2000 SP2, OFM, SQL Agent)
I find that when you try to administer another Arcserve server you are not offered any of the agents as options on that server, i.e. if you choose select server from the menu and choose another server to the local one that has say, the sql...
I get this message when I try to back up other servers after adding them to preferred sahres/machines, from one server running NT 4 server, Arcserve SP2, OFM & SQL agent, all properly registered.
