In general, TCP/IP does work because the dial-up connection works fine.
Also, I meant to say "remove" function, not uninstall for the DSL entry in the connections properties. It's the remove function that crashed.
Funny you should mention uninstalling all the AOL stuff. I went to the protocol list (of which TCP/IP is one) and found a DSL entry. First I unchecked it, then tried to uninstall it from that window and the uninstall CRASHED. That's when I knew there'd be trouble ahead.
