Thanks. I'll take any offers for assistance. I'll plug in the script and test it over the next few days as I'm out of town.

    Network Daemon

If the daemon is a program which has to be started at boot, create a start/stop script and place it in /etc/rc3.d If it is just a service; /etc/services (port info), /etc/xinetd.conf (service monitor), and where ever you installed the program.

    startup scripts prob

When in doubt, disconnect both the monitor and keyboard. The Server (Ultra 5/10/netra/vxx/e450) will default to move the console to the serial port. I then connect via hyperterm to the port (9600,8,n,1). I suspect you will see the OK prompt. Try to fix it from there.

    !command to return a value

Thanks. I've used VFP in the past. A few years ago I moved into Sybase SQL Anywhere under unix and developed data apps using PHP under Apache. But now I need to move back to VFP (7.0). I'm rusty. If you have upgraded, e.g. installed Sendmail from a local build, your DNS may not be exactly correct. For a try...

    Cammands to check disk mirroring

You have two issues. I can answer one now. I will have to look into the second issue later. 1. If your mirror is broken, your system would not have booted properly; e.g. you your system would have booted with disk errors and the console prompt indicating you needed to run fsck manually for fix...

    ODBC Updates

I'm using VFP 7.0 to access a Sybase SQL Anywhere 8.0.2 database via ODBC (remote views). I have to use an sql insert command to add records. But when using either an update statement on a button click, or by modifying data in a grid, the update does not occur? The view is set to update all. Any...
