    Import Excel e-mail addresses into Outlook Distribution List???

    I have an excel ss with user names and e-mail addresses in it. Can I import that into Outlook 2002 (XP) to a Distribution List without having to add them one at a time to Outlook? Or can I import them into Outlook at once then select them for the Distribution List one at a time? Even that...

    How do I set 'Limited" user for full access to certain folder?

    bcastner: Boy, I've read some of your FAQ's and you sound real nice and willing to help, but I've seen some of your postings and you can be real condescending. I know all about C: being the root of the drive. I've been at this for 23 years. Sorry, I 'puzzled' you. There's lots I don't know...

    How do I set 'Limited" user for full access to certain folder?

    I made a typo mistake in the original message. It should say "full access rights to a directory ON the root of c:\" not "directory OF the root of C: Just full rights to only one program folder on the C:\drive. Not all of C: and onwards. That's my problem. Just one folder...

    Excel won't save file.

    I had another IT person tell me what they did for this problem: They found out it was a time issue. The temp file that Excel creates is timestamped with current PC time. They said their PC's time was not synced with the network and the PC time was faster than the network, so when the actual save...

    Local user can't stop a service

    One of the solutions suggested here, was to have the user login as a service then logon that service as administrator. If I do that, would that be the same as making the user account type the same as an Administrator account? In other words, would I be giving out full rights to the user? If...

    Access 2000 database has slow performance on Windows XP OS

    Does your XP machines have SP1 on them? We had some machines installed without SP1, when I put the SP on, it speeded things up considerably. Just a thought.

    How do I set 'Limited" user for full access to certain folder?

    I want to set a user account to 'limited', but grant that user full access rights to a directory of the root of c: This is XP Pro, attached to Novell server, but not to a Windows Server, so no "domain".

    User can't create file using Pervasive

    3rd party vendor using Pervasive for their database. One of their menu routines is to create a .dat file in a subdirectory on Novell 6.0 fileserver. A regular user cannot do this, but I can. Once the file is created, the user can then run the process, which in effect, recreates (overwrites) the...

    How to use WinXP command in Novell Login Script

    How do I use the WinXP command "runas" in a Novell Login Script to run a .exe script file. Situation: Antivirus files updates are run from the Novell login script. It is an update that stops services, copies files, start services. If I set the WinXP user as "limited user&quot...

    Local user can't stop a service

    It looks like if I were to use the runas command, I would have to supply the password. That means my users would have to know the Administrator password and that would defeat the purpose of setting the user up as 'limited'. Can I give the user profile rights to do this process (copy files) for...

    Local user can't stop a service

    That sounds like a good idea and I will try it, but disadvantage that I can see is that I have a script that is running now as part of the Novell login. The script checks the current version of the antivirus, if it doesn't need updating, fine, if it does need updating, it stops the services...

    Local user can't stop a service

    This works to have the service log on as .administrator, but as long as the user is 'limited', the antivirus files don't get copied to the c:drive. What can I do to let the files get copied?

    Excel won't save file.

    What version of Windows and what version of Excel? What exactly is the error message from Excel? I had a similiar problem I think. Windows 2000 and Excel XP (2002). Final resolution was to apply latest Service Packs to both and that took care of problem. Could not find where my particular...

    NA=0 as custom format

    The reply from GlenUK for the custom format is what I was looking for. I tried this and think it will work for my payroll person. Thanks Glen!

    NA=0 as custom format

    I want to be able to enter NA in a cell and then later use this cell in a formula. So, I think I would like NA to be a number format of 0. If I just enter NA, Excel considers it text and I get an error when I use the cell in a formula. I do this so I can copy the formulas down. Sometimes there...

    Local user can't stop a service

    Thanks. I think this will solve my problem. I didn't know this solution existed (a service logging on). I have struggled with this for so long. Thanks again.

    Local user can't stop a service

    I know changing the user to the Administrator type would solve the problem, but makes other problems for me. I don't want the users to be Administrator of their own computers. I just need them to be able to stop a service. Shouldn't I be able to change their security to enable this one thing?

    Local user can't stop a service

    Environment: Local computer - WinXP Pro OS, logs into Novell 6 Server, gets Computer Associates Inoculan client signature files updated at time of Novell login (runs script). Is NOT part of a domain. No 2000 or NT server involved. Problem: If local user is "Limited", cannot stop the...

    Backup Exec 9.0 for Netware. Upgraded from V8x. Everything works if I do a manual backup or restore. I want to set up a full scheduled daily backup to backup after hours every night at 11:00 p.m. I want this to go Mon, Tue, Wed, Thur, Fri. In the old version I could select once weekly, then...
