Hmmm, now I have a brandnew 3.06Ghz 800mhz sysbus processor...
Well, it appears my problem stems from my motherboard.
I pulled the video card from the 3gigger cad station and installed it into my p3 866mhz and it worked,
so now with the knowledge that a new processor didn't work in the machine and my video card worked in another machine, it looks like I'll...
I looked all over too and while I found a few hits on 6716, none of them led to support material and I searched for that number on more than one language supported MSI site and all gave back "product does not exist",
nice of them, huh?
the closest number that I found support for was 6712...
I bought a replacement processor for my 3 gig machine, but no joy, still no POST,
A friend, (DELL tech) was with me and was doing most of the work and felt (after 3 hours of trying several tricks including unplugging everything except the processor fan and video card that it might be the video...
I have a similar problem, only I didn't do any upgrading.
My computer failed to wake up in the morning from its sleep mode and reboot did not result in a POST beep or a response on the screen,., but the lights lit up on the periphal drives and the fans worked. opened up the case used my...
Well, I had already tried logging on as the local
"Administrator", on the local machine, not the domain, but the option still did not show.
I have used TARDIS timekeeper in the past, but did not want to install something that might cause some kind of conflict.
I was hoping since I...
Have you added your machine to the domain yet?
In the CONTROL PANEL, launch the SYSTEM icon and click on the Computer Name tab. Then where it says,"To rename this computer or Join a domain, click change."
Do so, and the rest should be self evident.
You will probably need to reboot...
Before I upgraded my server and lost my network profile on my XP machine, THE XP machine was using the internet time function from "Date and Time" application to keep the time correct.
After joining the XP machine to the new Windows2000 Server domain, the option for using internet time...
thanks for all the tips, however I have been away from my desk all day and apparently it finally obeyed my cancel request, but I'll definitely keep this thread in my profile because 12+ hrs is too long to wait to have the queue released.
thanks again
Hello,
I don't know that this is specifically an XP issue, but I am running XP so here goes;
I have a Lexmark X73 USB printer with a printfile in the queue that it refused to print, so I just decided to cancel it and try printing again, but it stayed in deleting ... printing status and did NOT...
I would like to find/create an ACCESS database with multiple tables that could not only create custom printable forms for connectivity "field" surveys, but a database entry form that was intuitive enough to open up the table of the "gaining" connected equipment when selected...
another of many annoyances of IE is that I can't get it to open up MAXimized.
I looked in the registry, but without really knowing what to look for, I couldn't find a program setting for launching the browser to full screen.
I have a 21" NEC monitor running at 1280x1024, not astronomical...
Thanks for the effort but that didn't exactly the answer I was looking for.
However, an MCSA buddy of mine found the answer I needed on the microsoft site, which required making changes to memory addressing in the system.ini file.
I decided to go ahead and spend the evening installing WIN2000...
I just replaced two 256 sticks of memory with four 512 sticks of memory in my WIN98 machine (planned migration to WIN2000 later this summer) but in the meantime, the board had no problem identifying the memory but when WINDOWS starts it detours to a page that tells me I need to remove any...
