I am currently running a small network (20 users) configure as a Workgroup. All my clients are XP Pro and I have only one 2003 server.
I would like to upgrade my network to a Domain environment, but apparently part of the requirements are to have more than one Server. Is this true or can I...
Local Policy does not permit you to log on interactively"
I am getting this message every time I boot my computer and I am not able to login; not in normal mode, neither in safe mode.
I am NOT in a domain environment. I have several computers set as a workgroup and this is one of them.
I am...
What remote utility do you recommend under DSL?
I am aware that there are some programs such as PCanywhere, Laplink, TightVNC or even the native Windows program (Remote Desktop Connection or even Netmeeting) to remotely access a computer. However when I have done this is using a modem or a LAN...
I changed the IP address of my server and everyghing is fine in my subnet, but my other 2 locations (subnet B and subnet C) are not responding.
Could this had to do with the Gateway? INETCFG does not ask for a gateway setting.
Thanks for your help.
I need to change the IP address of my server.
I guess I could use INETCFG and make the changes from here, but are there any other files that need this change applied too?
Are there any particular steps I need to follow to apply these changes without much trouble?
Thanks.
Marv, I found this site. It mentions the 'BOOTPFWD.NLM' relay agent. Do you think this can replace the router helper in a subnet enviroment?

Thanks.
sstoppel,
I did not know anything about dnipinst.nlm. Probably this is part of the problem I am having with DHCP. I will have to read more about this.
Marv,
I followed your instructions and now my sub net '2.1', where my Netware server is located, is working fine, but the '2.2' and '2.3'...
This is my only server and I want to provide ip addresses for 3 subnets (2.1; 2.2 and 2.3).
Where do I specify the range of ip addresses?
Do I first create the DHCP objects (Server, Addresses Range, Pool, Subnet) then start the NLM in the console? and does it matter in what order I create all...
What is the recomended way to set an auto-reply message FBSD with Postfix?
I know of two ways, the vacation command in FBSD and the .procmailrc file, but I am not sure what the advantages are of one over the other, or if there are other alternatives.
I would appreciate any input.
I am on NetWare 6 and I am trying to restore one directory using SBCON. Every time I try to restore it restores several volumes, directories and files that I did not even include. I am aware that a 3rd party utility could handle this task better, but that is not a $choice at this point.
Thanks
We are trying to find out who is abusing from this NetWare service in our network. Is there a way to pull out from the server a log file that shows this info? Is it possible to retrieve the actual messages that went through the day, week or month?
We are running NetWare 6 and all our...
Do not worry about your NetWare server. Just concentrate on the windows side. Set a Workgroup for your workstations and your Win 2003 server. Make sure you specify the same workgroup name in each computer.
You may need to create a new user and group under Computer Management and give it enough...
It works!
I used the MSHTA.EXE as Markdmac suggested. I created a batch file that calls the HTA app. It looks like this:
START "" C:\WINDOWS\system32\mshta.exe "C:\Program Files\3rdPartyApp\Subdirectory\App.hta"
Then I just went into Group Policies / 'Start a program on connection' and...
Thanks for your input Mark. Correct me if I’m wrong, but it seems that Windows 2003 Server comes by default with some extensions, such as ‘hta’, disabled for automatic TS client connections. This might be for security reasons, right?
I am already able to get into the hta application as a client...
