That is exactly what is happening. ACSLS never responds and we can't figure out why. Symantec "proved" it to be a hardware issue but the full diags turned up nothing. I believe the hardware is faulting because the ACSLS software is causing the problem but I don't where to look to determne...
12 NBU 5.1mp6 master and media servers on AIX and an SL8500. We are seeing problems where NBU and ACSLS are not communicating properly and leaving tapes in the drives. What shows as mounted in ACLS does not always match what NBU shows, but sometimes they agree. Most commonly happens while...
Thanks. We actually found that we needed 5.1mp5! There was a, do we dare... A BUG in mp4 that allowed this to happen. There was an ETRACK case that fixed the problem.
We just installed our first 2 64 windows clients and on the Host Properties/Clients window the server shows up as Windows Server 2003 5 but under OS Type it shows as UNIX. I'm not able to configure my client properties since UNIX properties show up instead of Windows Properties. I can't find...

I just discovered that my Shadow Copy Components are all 0 byte files on my backups. When I restored a domain controller there was NTDS. I started checking regular servers and they all show 0 bytes. Any idea?
Does anyone have a recommendation for a degausser that will erase an LTO tape? I understand they are a higher coercivity than DLT and require a stronger degausser but I'm getting myself confused with exactly what I do need.
I'm doing the same, in reverse, and there are no official documents. The file formats are different between the two systems and the only supported method is using Veritas consulting.
We're also moving our master from windows to unix (aix) BUT for the migration to be supported from Veritas you must hire their consulting services to migrate the catalog info from one platform to the other.
If you install the java gui from the windows cd to a workstation and log into the master one of the column choices is to see the file currently being backed up. OR after the backup finishes you can use the restore window to view details of the file with the backup time. Neither one of this is...
I've ps -ef |grep ssh and killed the pid then executed the daemon with the path from the ps command. It may not be the most graceful way but it always works.
