My OTM used to work fine for years, but recently I cannot perform any status, enable, disable etc with PE units. If I do a network loop status etc it works ok there. It fails everything to do with PE units. It says "status command failed" or "enable failed". Anyone find a solution to this...
I don't know why the administrator didn't upgrade to simple digital sets in the first place. All the existing digital ones never fail. I'm pretty sure the PBX service vendor will be looking into a patch or something from Nortel real soon.
Thanks
48 volt 81C PBX. Can anyone tell me how the pbx lights the MWI on analog sets? Meaning, is there a voltage or tone sent to the set? If voltage, is it AC or DC and how much?
Thanks.
Ken,
I have a 48 volt dc pbx. That 80 volts to turn on the light that you mentioned earlier, does that apply to my switch? Also is that 80 volts DC or AC?
The cards are the correct Msg WTG cards. The failures are totally random.
John--My vendor said same as you about the zero cards for msg wtg lamps. Where does this lamp audit get turned on? If its not turned on wouldn't that account for never lighting the lamp? Keep in mind this problem is...
No not all on the same shelf in the 81C. I've had problems on loop 4,8,and 20. No probs on loop 24 and it does have analog tn's. I posted this problem in the Nortel forum also that will give you more info on this. I am starting to see a pattern that I describe in the other forum.
I have an 81C with one xcmc card installed in loop 24 x x.
I also have loops 4, 8 and 20. Do I need to have one of these XCMC cards in each loop or is just the one that I have in loop 24 sufficient?
The reason behind the question is that I am having trouble with MWI on the newly installed...
I see it in the cdr. I don't know what happens when it fails though. Hard to catch as it happens. Sometime the MWI is on when there are no unheard MSGS and sometime MWI won't go on when there is a message waiting. Different users complain that they had say 10 msgs in the box but light did not...
Thanks Ken,
I'll have to check out if the failures came off of the same PS shelf then.
One more question: If I don't see Mwi set/clear come up on the Octel cdr when it should have, does this mean that the PBX is at fault for not sending the command to Octel, or the Octel failed to respond...
Theres about 350 analog users. Two of the 24 ports are for MWI, just MWI, nothing else. The problem only happens for analog sets. No problems with digital sets. Like mentioned above, this problem started after upgrading existing Nortel 8009's, and 8314's to 9316cw analog sets.
By the way I...
I have an Octel 250 with SW 3.11.05-1.
I have been having a problem with (analog only sets)ie AAsta 9316CW phones. Since installing hundreds of these that replaced Nortel 8009's and 8314's the message waiting light either does not light when there are new msgs or it is lit when there are no...
So, to clarify, do you mean that if I change the class 1 max boxes in Menu 7 to 40max that I will do a global change to the 500 boxes that are in the system or just the new ones that are built under the new 40 template?
thanks
Thanks again.
Presently, my cos 1,2 and 3 have max 30, 40 and 60 messages.
If I increase class 1 to 40 messages in the class of svc profile,(Menu 7) I take it that only future mailbox additions will have the 40 max messages, and the existing boxes will not be changed to the new value. Is this...
Thanks,
What would hard coding an f key accomplish? Is this like a macro that brings you to the class of svc prompt and applies the change to make it class 2, thus eliminating keystrokes?
I have a 250 and when setting up new mail boxes through the WYSE terminal, by default it picks the class 1 mailbox (small) which has been ok till now.
The powers to be now wants new m/b builds to automatically pick the class 2 (Medium) as the default . In other words, how can I do this...
Is it necessary to reboot a 250 every so often? No one has ever told us to do this and someone else told me that this should be done like every six months to keep the hard drive data in order, sort of like a defrag in windows. The discussion came up when talking about when I had to turn msg...
Thanks for the replies. Our administrator has decided to keep the 250 with little or no changes. People that use the system are not really all that technical and don't really need fancy integration with email etc. This is fine with me. Does anyone see any advantage in upgrading to the latest...
Thank you Ken for the reply. If I can pick your brain once again,,,,, if we were to buy some spare equip to keep on site, which ones would you buy and about how much would they cost?
