I've been able to do this with the below command:
scp admin@<ASA IP>:config.txt .
The problem I have is that before I can run this command I have to run:
copy running-config disk0:config.txt...

Routing could be the problem, check your DNS domain setting to make sure that they are point to the correct public IP that the traffic should be coming back out of.
