Bill
I read with interest your post regarding MSP2003 Project Server. You mention a roadmap which you have developed. I am a planner with a small to medium size company who will need to address the very factors discussed sooner rather than later. Would it be possible for you to send me some...
Hi
Have a look at this site.
http://masamiki.com/project/
There is a macro called "Export Hierarchy to Excel" which will accomplish what I think you're after. It will keep the indents too. Cut and paste can bring in other aspects of the mpp which you may require
Hope this helps
For your information, if you embed a graphic image in the header or footer area this will dramatically increase your file size. Another trick to accomplish this is to embed a word or excell table in the header or footer.
Can anyone tell me if they have read this book?
"Construction Scheduling with Primavera Project Planner - Leslie Feigenbaum"
If anyone has it or has read it can they tell me the following:
1. Is it a good book for someone like myself, who is trying to resurrect his knowledge of P3
2. Does it...
You didn't mention which version of project you're using. Previous guys advice is sound, but you're going to run into other problems too. Try working through the following book - Planning & Scheduling with MS Project by Paul E Harris. The book is divided into chapters with easy to follow...
Supplementary information now available.
It would appear, if a project programme is created using an old project or template and the summary info is not input immediately, the problems stated above occur (i.e. the inserted programe always defaults back to the orignal summary info.). Reboots etc...
Many apologies for the lack of info, however, many thanks for the specific method used to chastise me! Are you a teacher?
The version is MSP2000.
The Project File names tend to be Number then name (eg 9999 WXYZ)
I am inserting them using the normal method (Insert, Project) and linked.
In some...
Hi
When I insert a project into a consolidated project, the name is often incorrect or nothing at all is shown. The process does not appear consistent either. It usually requires the information to be entered manually.
Is this normal Microsoft behaviour or can it be avoided?
Thanks
I'm interested in other peoples experiences of MS Project Central.
As Planner for 12 project Engineers in different areas of the country i'm in a position where I need to investigate whether to go with MS Project Central. The problem is, I have no idea of the cost implications of such a move...
I need to export information from Excel to MS Project. When one of our admin team enters the completed date for a tender, I need a link or macro to enter 100% complete in MS Project %Complete column. The linking of the spreadsheet to the Project file is easy but I can't figure out how to do the...
I'm interested in methodologies and techniques applied in other organisations with a view to best practice. My role is that of a planner within the Projects & Services department of a multi-national organisation. I'm charged with planning for 12 project engineers only 4 of whom are based on the...
I need to write a macro to paste picture links from one sheet to another in MS Excel.
This is not difficult to accomplish for a once only task from the same location in the source sheet to the same location in the destination sheet.
What I want to do is automate the operation with a macro which...
I'm using MS Project 2000 and want to use VBA. I can't seem to get a downloaded VB template (MS Project 2000 SDK), which I got from MS download centre, to work.
The whole VB thing in my version of Project seems a little bit lame but maybe its because i've not used it before
I can only assume Project is performing some kind of levelling because the resource is already used elsewhere. If this is the case it can be a good idea to put your resources in a text column and leave the resources empty until you can come back to it.
Microsoft Project Step by Step is a good book for a beginner. It has a CD-ROM inside the rear cover with interactive tutorials (very good for those just starting).
For more advanced stuff Microsoft Project 2000 The bible will be a good purchase once you are started. It also has a CD-ROM but its...
