When you get close to the bottom of the image, press and hold down the space bar. This give temporary control to the hand tool. Move your image up, then release the space bar. Your lassoo will resume where you left off.

The only real problem I had with the migration from PageMaker to InDesign was the loss of the 'Paste Special' command, which allowed me to strip out the formatting from a text source and keep the formatting of my selected paragraph style.
This has now been cured, thanks to this web site...
Does anyone know of a batch converter from PageMaker 6/7 to InDesign? I migrated to InDesign after 14 years of PageMaker, and I have a vast library of documents that I want to convert, but I don't relish the thought of opening and re-saving each one individually. The batch converter for Quark to...
My favourite is increasing the canvas size non-mathematically. Surround the whole picture with the crop tool, then drag the handles away from the image. Double clicking will then increase the canvas to the size you have selected. I find this much quicker than using the Image > Canvas Size route.
I must agree with Jimoblak on this. I used to send a certain document to print direct from PM that ended up at over 1 Gig as a print file. I now generate print resolution PDF files from Indy, and the size at the print stage is reduced to 200Mb. The quality is just as good, the ripping time is...
The "Press" style does convert to CMYK. You can check this by going to the Advanced tab in the export box.
The only way that I have managed to make greyscale PDFs from colour documents is by re-saving the PDF in Acrobat as a greyscale postscript file, then re-distilling. Easy to do...
Have you tried using the em-space or en-space instead of the hyphen? Sometimes they can give a better visual effect than the keyboard hyphen. On a PC, Alt 0150 or Alt 0151.

Hi there,
You can convert RGB to CMYK at the output stage using the Output tab in the print dialogue box.
Placing of images seems to be a matter of personal preference. I use <Ctrl>+D; File, Place; Drag from Explorer; Drag from other documents; Copy and paste from other documents; Drag from...
Hi,
I assume that when you have opened your image, it is on one layer - "Background".
1) Duplicate the layer (make a "Background Copy" layer).
2) Hide this new layer (click the eye icon).
2) Highlight the Background Layer.
3) Select all, delete.
4) Put the desired...
Dear All,
Has anyone else had problems making coumpound paths in InDesign 2.0.2 (PC)? When trying to make a compound path from more than two elements, all of which have been drawn in InDesign, I get random results. Sometimes it works, sometimes it will take three elements, sometimes four. Is...
