Sorry for the delayed response, yesterday was a bit crazy.
So following your recommendations I could do something like this:
Site A: Load balance 2 Edge servers using WNLB, install 2 CAS/HUB/Mailbox servers implement DAG.
Site B: 1 Edge server with MX record higher than Site A, install 1...
WNLB can't be used if you're going to do DAG-Agreed, one or the other, but you can purchase a 3rd party load balancer to use with the CAS instead of using WNLB, which of course I can't do because of budget so I am considering that I might be better off using WNLB for the CAS and forget about DAG...
Currently have Exchange 2003 in FE/BE configuration in single site, want to transition to Exchange 2010 and add 2 additional sites. Sites are in US, UK, & CA so ideally looking for better performance with multi-site deployment, allow users in each site to have local access to mailboxes. Have...
Thanks Mark, that will work for inbound from the internet but I am not sure what is required to send all mail from the BE through the FE. I am hearing that I may need to create a bridgehead and set up routing groups and connectors however thought this was not required when only using one BE and...
Hi there,
I am about to install a new E2K3 front end server and want all inbound/outbound (internet) mail to flow through this server, what do I have to configure on the FE/BE to accomplish this. I only have one domain and am only using one BE server. Both servers are on the internal network...
Hi there,
I have a Windows 2003 server running Exchange 2003, last week my information store suddenly crashed for no apparent reason. We were able to simply restart the store service and all appeared well however ever since my Windows/temp directory has been growing approximately 20 mb a day...
Hi there,
I have a problem and am open to suggestions on how to resolve it. I have a Dell PowerEdge 2550 server, with 2 x 18gb and 2 x 36gb drives configured in RAID 1, 1 GB of memory, 2 x 1.13GHZ processors. The server is running Windows 2003 server standard and Exchange 2003 standard...
Thanks, at this point I think I am going to proceed as most people seem to think that I will not experience the same issue with the DB2 as I did with SQL, however it would be nice to have confirmation one way or the other.
Think what I will do is readdress it in the same subnet first, just to...
I have no problems with readdressing the server itself, it is the DB2 that I am worried about. From past experience I have moved servers containing SQL databases and the ip address and host name of the server was directly tied to the database, so if they were not changed within the database...
I am physically moving the server to a different office location which will require giving the server a different ip address than what it currently has. Everything on the server will stay in tact, except for the ip address.

Hello,
I have a windows 2003 server containing an DB2 database that holds an accounting application called ACCPAC. I need to move this server and readdress it. Is there anything I have to do to the database in order to retain functionality with the new ip address. I do not have to rename the...
the problem was a linksys wireless router only supporting one ipsec connection at a time. As usual I was misinformed by the users in the office in that they were not all attempting to connect at the same time until I released the exchange server, then it hit the fan. Regarding my other vpn...
Thanks guys,
In regards to leased lines, find that they are prohibitively over priced and a pain to maintain, therefore SDSL is more practical, 4mbps up and downstream. Only one remote site at this time, do not expect a large amount of traffic however they will require dedicated connection to...
Routerman,
In my proposed design would you put the radius server outside of the firewall directly behind the concentrator or would it be better to have it on the inside network?

Routerman,
Thanks for the input. In regards to the remote office and a concentrator, my plan would be to have all clients connect to the concentrator at the head office for individual vpn connections, and strictly use the pix-to-concentrator for the site to site connection. However that does...
Hi there,
Starting to plan a new remote office and thought I would put this out there to see what others may think.
Central office currently using PIX 515E for VPN, clients authenticating via vpn group only, right now. No current site-to-site configuration.
Central office will migrate to 4th...
The license is built into the W2K3 Cd, you do not have to input it during the install. You can confirm that it is licensed after the install is complete by checking in System Manager, highlight the server folder and in the details pane it will tell you what version you are running. You can...
Hi There,
Has anyone out there used the connection and recipients filters in E2K3. I have configured them both and applied them correctly to my smtp virtual server however they do not appear to be working. What is the default behavior of these filters, do they just drop any emails coming from...
