looking for unused ports
I don't know of an automated process like you're talking about - perhaps some kind of snmp management like HPOV NMS could trend activity on the ports and when you see none, you would know. We use a manual process to do it - go into the menu and make a note of all the ports that have a down...- pseudocybe

bad ports on passport 8600
