I have a customer with a 100+ MB Access db and they are complaining that the T1 between facilities is running slow. When I explained the issues, the developer took offense. Does anyone know where I can find articles stating that you shouldn't run Access across a WAN (especially when the...
I have a new client who said their building was wired with IBM Type II Twinax Cable... What is it, and will it work with 100 MB Ethernet? Any issues I need to worry about?
We have several clients who have asked for this. The one suggest I would have for you would be to install the voice and data jacks in seperate patch panels. While they function the same, it makes it much easier to manage later. If they go to a VoIP phone system later they'll need the wiring.
On the client VPN connection settings, under the Options tab, have them select include Windows logon domain. When they connect to your network the next time, they will have to enter the domain name as well as their username and password. This should resolve the issue.
Unfortunately, I can't roll back the server to SP3 because I didn't archive files. Usually, if the service pack has been out at least a couple of weeks I trust it. Obviously, that was a bad move on my part. How did you go about resetting the permissions for IWAM account? I figured I would...
I thought so too, but I can't find an account that is not an account that was existing before I renamed the administrator account and the username that I thought I renamed it to no longer exists. I have domain administrator accounts that I can use to log on to the server, but the actual...
The server is a domain controller so there really are no local users. The account that was renamed and deleted was the administrator account that is installed with 2000 server by default. Technically, I guess it was a local account and a domain account. I can't really do a full restore from...
Have you had problems with Security Policies after renaming administrator and installing SP4? If so, have you found a resolution? I am having problems with security policies, but I'm not sure where my problems started or how to resolve them as of yet.
I've renamed and deleted the administrator account on a Windows 2000 domain controller (oops) and now I can no longer open Domain Controller Security Policy, Domain Security Policy or the Local Security Policy from Administrative Tools. I can open Active Directory Users and Computers and...
I created a new share on my folder, and the attribute is set to Read Only. Even with administrative rights, I can change the attribute, but it keeps going back. I have set the permissions for full control, and I gave everyone full control, and still can't make headway. Any ideas?
The only problem with those boots is when you are plugging the patch cord into a close area. Like a switch. Several vendors (like Cisco) will recommend you not use boots, or pull them back. The ports are so close on a switch that the boots put pressure on the switch ports.
I guess I've just...
Daron, (or anyone)
You commented on another message that you use solid cable in the wall, and stranded for patch cables... Why? You seem to know the standards, is this a standards issue?
I try not to make patch cables if possible, but I have a good crimp tool, and seem to make a better...
I have just been thrown into a maintanence nightmare... A new client has an MD110 BC7 (11 LIMs).
Is there an easy way to generate a buzzer at the front desk when a call comes across the main hunt group? The buzzer needs to have a volume controller. It can be manual.
Thanks,
Jim
