Thank you for the follow up. You are right, IAS is an option. When I wrote the reply, I was thinking ISA not IAS in my head. Sorry about the dyslexia!
After reading the suggestions here, I've thought it over and I'm thinking of sticking with the Pix access lists solution. Only because it'd...
Good idea, but IAS isn't an option in this case due to budget.
Yes, they could change their IP, but to what? With the access list in place to allow those specific IP's and denying the rest, how could they get out? The only IP's that have access would be in use!
With a few modifications, that just might do the trick! Thanks! [2thumbsup] I forgot that Object-Groups are supported in the 6.3(5) code. I was thinking that was a 7.0 and above.
Unfortunately this client had a small budget and this was the only hardware we could do. The 3550 switch was out...
I'd rather manage the IP's from DHCP. Plus if I can, I'd like to prevent the kids that are using those machines from being sneaky and just changing the IP to access the internet. They've had problems before with these machines.
Hi All,
I've been tasked with setting up a customer so that a group of 5 POS machines cannot access the internet but access local LAN resources. There are 5 other machines that need access to the internet and local LAN resources. I have a Pix 501, W2K3 Proliant ML350 Server, and a Cisco...
We have a homegrown app here that's pretty old school. It runs in within a DOS shell. So, when it runs in Windows XP, it uses NTVDM to run. Now, when this app runs within the NTVDM, it uses 98% of CPU resources on these XP Pro machines. The machines are all Pentium 4 2.8Ghz Processors and at...
This happened to me once on 3.01 (running the service pack now actually). I rebooted the server and the problem went away. Hope it works for you too...
Maybe I need to search a little deeper, but does anyone know how I could update the subject line blocking en masse, instead of having to add them one by one?
Thanks!
Thanks! I've been wondering when they were going to add that functionality. I figured it was a matter of time before they did.
Where did you get that info btw?
I just noticed that McAfee is offering an Anti-Spyware app. Now I know that it's probably intended for home use, but do you think I could install it in an enterprise environment and manage it with ePO?
We just got new servers in and I'd like to move ePO off of one overused server and onto the new one. Any ideas on how I can do that and not lose everything?
Does anyone know of any good *free* app that will allow you to change the admin password on multiple machines remotely. We have Hyena and you can do it on each machine, but I have 250 machines and I'd like to do it at once.
Thanks
Jake
Here's one for you. Maybe you can help me stop from banging my head against the wall on this one...
First my network stats: NT4 domain with Windows 2000 and a few remaining NT workstations using Outlook 2000 for e-mail. No XP or 9x clients. We are a geographically separated military unit...
I got one...
What if you tried to run the CMU300.NAP file, just as the documentation says, then it tells you that "This product is unsupported with this version of ePO and will not be added to the repository?" I'm pretty much stuck at this point.
I work for the DOD, so I'm working...
