Hi,
From my understanding you cannot route between 2 switches. That is the job of a router/layer 3 switch.
The 2948 is a basic switch and does not have any routing capabilities.
Even if you were to use vlans you would still need a router/layer 3 switch to route between the 2.
Hope this is of...
Hi,
Just found on the Cisco website that the 2600 series does not support a further ethernet or fastethernet port in one of the WIC slots. According to their compatibility chart it must be the only WIC that is not supported.
I have found a solution that will work though.
A 1721 router with a...
Hi,
I know that Solarwinds Engineers Edition has software that will allow you to download the configurations of all cisco equipment from a nice GUI, however it only works if you have a read/write community name.
I don't know of anything that will allow you to do it if you have read only...
Hi,
If you can get hold of Solarwinds Engineers Edition it has a lovely bit of software that allows you to download/upload config from/to cisco routers and lets you compare the running with startup config for any contentions.
It is all GUI based so you don't have to remember file path names...
Hi,
Does anyone know what the lowest spec cisco router is that will support 3 fastethernet ports.
Will probably be 2 fixed with 1 WIC slot.
I can't seem to find any info on the Cisco website that says whether it is possible.
I am hoping that it is supported on the 2600 series but so far not...
Most of the IOS downloads on the Cisco site can only be accessed if you have a CCO account.
If you have a CCO account the IOS downloads are in the following location:
Technical Support
Software Center
Cisco IOS Software
Hope that this helps.
Keiron.
Results from Sniffer tracing:
The printer when out of paper is sending the as400 "printer status online=false"
Once refilled is sending "printer status online=true".
Unfortunately I have discovered the user sending the prints is telling the as400 to continue printing at...
I agree with bcastner on this.
If you did want to transfer data with a laptop-to-laptop connection though the Network Interface Cards you need a Cat 5 crossover cable (Cat 5 is rated at 100 mbps).
Do not get a Cat 3 cable (only rated at 10 mbps).
Thanks for having a look.
I will put a Sniffer on and see what traffic is passing between the as400 and printer.
Hopefully it is something that can be switched off with an option on the printer.
Will post results on this thread.
If anyone else has any ideas in the meantime please post them...
Can anyone help with this please:
When sending a print to the HP4200 all is fine until the printer runs out of paper.
Once reloaded with paper and checking on the print queue on the as400 it says that the queue is not associated with a started printer.
This then has to be reset. I have set...
