Which OS are you using? Most drivers allow you to specify a resolution/refresh rate to the monitor. Cut it down to 800x600 @ 60Hz and see if that works. It is possible you have it setup to put out something the monitor is incapable to display.

I noticed I had a 50gig scsi drive that was not initializing in a timely manner. Check your motor start delays. I changed the wait on mine and all appears to go well so far.
Which scsi adapter are you using? Qlogic?
I too have had problems with Win2k and found out someone had replaced a processor in the machine with one of UNLIKE stepping. It turned out that their was some form of a conflict between processors. In general tho, I think Win2k just runs slower.
