hi, yea probably I shouldnt have posted 2wice, but i didnt know wich forum fit best.
Also, quite right, LIKE did work.
the error was in my code.
But here is another question!
how do I search my query results from the first query with a second query?
Is this a stupid beginners question? I hope...
How can I search in a field with many words for one single keyword? like, when the field contains - apple, banana, pear, plum, and i type in - pear - ?
... WHERE field LIKE '% Keyword %' , which was my only idea, (i am a newbie) didnt yeald much success, because I have to wrap it up in a php...
Rather an SQL Question...
How can I search in a field with many words for one single keyword? like, when the field contains - apple, banana, pear, plum- , and i am just searching for - pear - ?
... WHERE field LIKE '% Keyword %' , which was my only idea, (i am a newbie) didnt yeald much...
Thanks for all the support.
The problem is I have to come up with a vpn solution for a client who runs win 98 and is not considering to give it up... but in that case I will have to find another workaround.
Perhaps ssh will do the trick..
Thanks anyway for the help.

Im very linux sympathetic!
unfortunately, I have to install the server on a windows 98 platform!
And I am checking for a effective and inexpensive solution!
Thanks for any suggestions!
Thanks for the info.
What would be a cost effective 3rd party software to do the job? And can I connect to it with the windows 98 vpn client?
Thank you for the help,
R
hi, the question is can I use windows 98 as a vpn server or do I need special software for that ? I know that windows 98 comes with vpn client features, but as a server?
Thanks, R
