i was told this information from some company that is out of salt lake city. I forgot the name of the company.

i was given a bunch of jacks to put on phone wires, but im confused.... the wires have blue orange and green colors, the jacks have 4 pins with red black green yellow colored terminals.... where does the blue orange and green wires go on which terminals??????

the company i work for has whats called a merlin 820d. a vendor sold us some mls12d phones and said they will work with this system. we plug them in and nothing happens. the vendor told us that you can use whats called partner phones on a merlin 820. im confused...

i heard that you cannot use a 4 pin line cord into an 8 pin jack because the outer pair of pins won't make contact...

does it matter which color pair of wires i use??

I have to install a phone system that uses 1 pair wiring... can I use a 6 pin jack instead of a 4 pin jack??? what happens to the unused pins in the jack???

if the system is fairly new....up to a week for safe keeping... do a power down on the vm if it has the option....most do...the phone system just shut off.... i suggest you keep a written record of all your programming... mitch taylor www.getwiredbymitch.com
