This usually occurs because of an incompatibility between pcAnywhere and the video card driver.
You might uninstall PCA, update to the latest video driver, then reinstall PCA.

If the option is greyed out, this usually means the video card doesn't support it. It might be the operating system you are running. Check Symantec's website about this issue:

You won't be able to get around the router's NAT unless you use a web based service like GoToMyPC, but they are a monthly paid service and they "get around" the NAT for you.
If you use something like pcAnywhere, my preference, then you will have to configure the router to port forward...

pcAnywhere will only authenticate it's own connection. Windows authentication of for Win9x systems, NT is well NT Domains, and ADS for Active Directory.
All the NT and ADS authentication does, which is good, is to allow you to use your already set up users for authentication purposes...
