I am running Win XP pro.
As far as I can tell it only happens when I open a pre-existing file.
I have opened Task Manager and opened Word and left if for 5 minutes. No unusual spikes in CPU usage.
I then added info to the file and left for 5 minutes, still no change.
Saved the file but left...

If I open a previously saved word doc then shortly thereafter my system crashes to a halt and my CPU usage spikes to 100%. When I look at the running processe in Task Manager I see...
Alright. I thank you for your suggestions but I think I have narrowed it down to a corrupt record in one table.
My other databases were throwing the error as well because they are all linked to the primary database with the error on it, DUH!
So I have found the record but cannot delete it. I...
P.S. This is happening in all of my databases. Not just one.

I have done more research and have not been able to find any information regarding directional antennas for ethernet use or any information on using lasers.
I did look at the link left by bcastner regarding the powerline network and I don't think this will work in this application because the...
I thank all of you for your comments!
I do have to say though that I am not very familiar with the implementation of either of these technologies. Do you have any links you can direct me to regarding directional antennas w/ security encryption and lasers.
Thank you!

I have a client that has two office buildings. They are about 200ft apart across a parking lot.
I need to see what I can use to connect the satellite office to the LAN at the main office.
I was thinking about using a wireless router but I do not want to broadcast the LAN everywhere. I want...
I am wondering if any of you have seen or solved this problem. I have a client who in running Win XP Home. When she boots up she gets the Windows login box asking for her username and password.

I have an 8 port Linksys router that appears to be having an issue assigning DHCP to all of my clients.
It was working fine on Thursday but starting on Friday each client would lose the DHCP assignment when rebooted and would then reboot with an automatically assigned IP address wih a subnet...
I have never had any success with DAP's.
Not only that but if the time come you can migrate to MSSQL with no problem if you use ASP.NET, I agree with Omega

Well, the embedded images are on the client so I guess all should be OK. Once their cached they should not lag at all.

Try using a Dcount function that will give you the total of what you are looking for in Table_1
For Example:
=Dcount("[Table_1]![Index_1]","Table_1","[Table_1]![Index_1]=[index_on_report]")
That basically says count all of the Index_1 in Table_1 directly, prior to the one-to-many relationship...
Thank you for all of your suggestions. I really appreciate it. If any of you know, why would the replication test that I did cause the DB to run so much quicker on the clients?
I plan on migrating to a web based interface in the future using Access with ASP and IIS but we don't have the time...
I have inherited an Access Database that is being hosted on a SBS 2003 Server. All network operations are "smoking" excluding a user accessing the database.
The database is broken into two sections. The 'Server' section contains only tables.
The 'Client' Side contains linked tables to the...
Obviously I don't know how your report is organized but when I am designing a report where I am going to use aggregate function I make sure to include an Autonumber ID from each table as the criteria for the aggregate function.
Now you will have to format the detail and group header/footer to...
