    A hibernation stage/mode being engaged is the most logical deduction. I'm certain that we turn these machines off with the normal shutdown procedure. Perhaps they are shutting down to a suspend or sleep mode. Doesn't XP support a new suspend/hibernation mode?

    Sorry.. Both machines can only be powered up by depressing the power button for 4 seconds, releasing and then depressing the PB normally.
