you know what, i'm an idiot... lol i just realized i have zone alarm on PC1.... But i still tried sharing files on PC2 and i wasnt able to access them from PC1, but then again i just tried once. *feels ashamed* very ashamed lol thanks man- garfield1979

I should also say that the two computer are obtaining good IP addresses from the DHCP in the router. I have the option to boot PC2 on windows 2000, i havent tried that yet, but it may work, but only as a troubleshooting capability, as i want to use winXP. Anyone with any input will be greatly...- garfield1979

Home Network over Router connection problems
Hey everyone, I've hit a brick wall: I've purchased a network router to share my Cable connection to both of my PC's. I've put both the PC's on the same work group, and i've been able to see the Computer names when i go to network neighborhood, or when i try pinging the respective computer name...- garfield1979
