this setup has worked for quite awhile but recently users have had trouble. normally they open the vpn client, it prompts them for a username and password and they are logged on...
I am going to add my first Windows 2003 DC tomorrow but I have a question about it.
We currently have Windows 2000 DCs with some Windows 2003 member servers and an Exchange 2003 Server (on windows 2003).
I ran the Exchange adprep a long time ago.
How do I check if records are mangled...
We have an Access database that is secured and used to prompt for a username and password but stopped doing so this morning.
We open the database with a shortcut (points to the correct workgroup file) and this shortcut hasn't changed. When you open it using the shortcut, it doesn't prompt you...
I have been looking into seting up a wireless lan that uses certificates (Securing Wireless LANs with Certificate Services article) but it has brought up a few questions...
#1 Can you set this up using Windows 2003 standard edition or just using enterprise edition? (I know you can't customize...
I need to mirgate from Windows 2000 AD to Windows 2003 AD.
I have three main concerns: moving DNS from the Windows 2000 DC to a Windows 2003 DC, pre-Windows 2000 desktops being able to log on and forestprep/domain for Windows 2003 (moving dhcp and wins seems simple enough).
#1 Moving DNS
How...
I currently have a stand alone root CA on a Windows 2000 server and need to move it to a Windows 2003 Server.
I use certifcates currently for OWA, WSUS and VPN but I am considering using it with wireless security as well in the future (set up a radius server).
Should I use an Enterprise root...
I am confused as to where you should install a certificate for OWA published behind an ISA server.
Currently I have the certificate installed on the Exchange server but I have read where people have installed a certificate on the ISA server.
Should I have it installed on one? both? depends on...
A little more detail on our set up.
We have a certificate installed on the Exchange Server and the virtual directories are all under the Default Website on that Windows 2003 server.
So...to go over the steps:
ISA Server:
Needs to have a web publishing rule that points to a destination set...
FTR...I read somewhere that you could test OMA by going to http://servername/oma.
Since I am using SSL, I went to https://servername/oma and was prompted for a username/password.
I got the following:
A System error has occurred while processing your request. Please try again. If the problem...
I recently got a new cell phone that has windows mobile 5.0 on it and would like to set it up so I can get my email on it.
Our set up: Exchange 2003 (only one server, no FE/BE set up), ISA 2000.
We currently have OWA working with SSL (cert from inhouse CA). I turned off FBA for now but would...
I am attempting to remove Exchange 2000 after I have migrated users' mailboxes, public folders, etc to a new Exchange 2003 server but I keep getting an error.
The error I keep getting is about having 1 or more user mailboxes in the mailbox store and that I need to move them before removing the...
Well...looking at the link you sent again and since I have now moved every mailbox except SMTP, System Attendent and the systemmailbox, the only questions I have are about the public folders.
I already rehomed all the public folders we have manually created.
What about the IPM_Subtree folder...
already went thru that list
that article leaves a few things out
by the way...I was able to purge the mailbox for deleting the mailbox in Active Directory Users and Computers, running the mailbox cleanup wizard and then purging it.
I am not sure I understand what you mean by:
"You have to move them or you'll get errors when you run through"
Move all the mailboxes or the public folders?
If you meant the mailboxes, why would I have to move ones I don't need (ones associated with old user accounts)? Also the article states...
I am in the process of migrating from Exchange 2000 to Exchange 2003.
I have pretty much followed the following link:
http://www.msexchange.org/tutorials/Migrating-Exchange2000-Exchange-2003-Hardware.html
A couple of questions...
What about the public folder IPM_SubTree? Does that need to be...
