Hi all,
Sorry for double posting here and in Exchange 2003 but I could not find an MS Outlook forum.
I was trying to delete the one and only Outlook profile on one of my desktops. The email account resides on an Exchange 2003 server. So I went into Control Panel > Mail > Show profiles >...

Hi M. Knorr,
I have applied the fix last night and let's see how we go.
Set autodisconnect to ffffffff on the file server
and
added KeepConn DWORD on the clients and set it to 65535
and
Unchecked "Allow this computer to turn of this device to save power" for the PCs in question.
Hi,
Thanks for your reply. I was actually thinking about disabling the autodisconnect function on the file server. But I have a question:
Firstly, from the KB that you provided, I understand that it is recommended to turn off autodisconnect via regedit compared to command line due to some...
hi all,
we have a situation where multiple users will obtain a "Sharing violation" error from Excel/Word for files stored on our windows 2003 file server. Each time they report this error, you will find that they have multiple sessions open on the file server (Computer Management>Shared...
Hi all,
Recently, one of my users had some issues with his wired sync so I decided to re-install his Desktop Manager. I installed version 4.6/4.7 (sorry can't remember exactly). When we perform a wired sync for calendar items, it cycles/goes through all 9000 calendar items each time. It did not...
if even going into safe mode freezes, I guess you should try to repair your windows installation by booting up via a Windows media disc and selecting the repair option.
you did not specify but it is always best to uninstall all traces of the previous driver + the bundled apps before installing the new versions. you could also try downloading the latest drivers from the vendor website if you are using brands like HP or DELL to be sure it is the latest and...
Hi all,
I am sure many of you may have experienced this issue before but I find it quite difficult to search for solutions because I am not sure what to use as a search string.. so here it goes...

Thanks Ben and Linney,
I have read through your posts and links and they are really useful. I am sure they would be of help to many users out there. However, I am still experiencing the BSODs. Video card drivers and BIOS have been updated. Possibly I should update the other drivers as well, but...
Hi all,
Thanks very much for the prompt response.
Linney,
I have installed debugging tools and produced the dumpchk results but I am not sure how to run debugging tools itself. Do I use the same minidmp file?
I already tried disabling DEP and updating my video card drivers but no luck as...
Hi all,
I have been getting BSODs on a new Thinkpad laptop and it always says that win32k.sys is the culprit.I ran some memory diagnostics and also PC doctor and results were good so I believe it is not a hardware issue. Coincidently, the only time it seems to blue screen is when I remote to...
Thanks Pat and Dave.
Yes, I guess Option 2 is the way to go but in saying that, you will need enough disk space to actually be able to mount the restored info store correct? So if storage becomes an issue during restore, nothing can be done?
Hi all,
Can someone give me a brief explanation of what are the pros and cons of backing up (or from a restore perspective):
1. Information Store, Mailbox and Public folders
vs
2. Information Store only
I heard that option 1 would give you the ability to restore individual mailboxes or...

Hi all,

Happens intermittently but at...

Hi Turkbear,
No they don't
What you see is the standard "This computer has been locked" prompt on the screen and you will know when the PC has frozen when the fonts on the prompt disappear and all you end up with is a grey box or only the wallpaper.
Hi Rob,
Thanks for your detailed response.
We are actually suspecting kaspersky av as all this started to happen just after we ran some updates but we can't prove it.. whether or not its hardware or overheating.. i do not think so as these machines have been working for about 2 - 3 years...
