You may actually save money by installing XP Pro from the disk you already have on the other system and then calling Microsoft and purchasing a license for the second computer. I plan to try this when I install XP Pro on one of my other comps after this semester is over. I don't want to mess up...
I'm far from expert but I would expect that the replacement card will solve the problem. I had the same problem that you listed as number 3. I put in an identical card from another computer and it worked fine.

There is a ton of info in that Event Viewer (I didn't even know that was there). Im having everyone who uses the computer to write down the time if it crashes to see what is happening at that momment...
My computer completely locks up, although only when playing games. (Everquest, Civ III, Black and White). I have reformatted more than once, but I do not know if the registry is cleared during a reformat. Is it possible that there could be some problem in there that remains?
