The system checklist for problem resolution includes: 1. Updating the system firmware 2. Checking for I/O software updates and, finally, 3. Replacing the primary I/O backplane. Will have IBM replace this now... Thanks guys :-)- jaasonstevens

Thanks guys. I have placed one each of hardware and software calls and neither could resolve the issue. Will now consider running a slow boot with the diagnostics CD...- jaasonstevens
